I'm angry - I can't start a war I really want to because a lot of my trade is by sea, and an enemy settlement a while away is going to block my trade. I considered attacking by boat, landing an army there, but doesn't the AI always ask you to move your troops, and FORCE you to (as in they are moved automatically)? That idea is ruled out, it'd kill my trade. In fact, would it kill my trade by default as soon as I declared war, even if I was able to take the settlement the same turn? Aaah...! Okay, another idea - my reliance on the Great Library will end soon, I'm extremely rich and the AI seems to be slow in technological advancement. I can go ahead by myself without being beaten in the tech race (Emperor level). Education could take me 5 turns, 86 gpt income left. Then I could beeline for Navigation (after Astronomy) to get to be able to trade over ocean squares. BUT...do the civs I trade with also need the same technology, and will declaring war without them having it kill my trade? I might have to trade those techs I get, I guess. It won't necessarily affect me too much, but...yowsers. I want Sun Tzu off the Dutch, though, dagnabbit!
