I'm going to buy another synth several months from now, and I'm about 95% sure it will be either the Microkorg XL or the Korg R3.
This is because:
1. Both of the synths are relatively cheap and
2. they are small, and the last thing I need is something that will take up a lot of space.
I know the majority of you guys don't know much about synths, so here's a link of both machines:

The r3 is slightly more expensive than the Microkorg xl, but not by much. Money is not really an issue here though as I see them both as inexpensive. I will probably buy it used to save money as well.
Advantages of the r3: more features in general, a more "powerful" machine (although the microkorg xl is also plenty powerful)
advantage of the microkorg xl: can be battery powered, meaning you can play it without plugging it into a wall. Also, for whatever it's worth, you can plug an iPod into it and play music out of the iPod while adding your own music with the Microkorg xl.
There seems to be a lot more people that own the Microkorg xl; it is a more popular synth as far as I can see.
edit: and I am already aware that the r3 has full sized keys, but mini keys don't bother me.
Which of the two would you buy?
