Believe it or not I only played Sid Meier's Railroads for the first time a week or so ago! Having played other railway strategy games I am now wondering why I have not played this one before - it is superior in so many ways.
I am struggling with one aspect of the game, however. I have played at a relatively easy level against one computer-generated competitor and cannot find a way of surviving. No matter how profitable my company is, and I have tried various tactics, the competitor always grows more quickly and eventually buys me out, ending the game. One one occasion I had just completed all of the targets set except for buying the competitor out, and I was pretty close to doing that.
Am I missing something here? I just get the feeling that there is a tactical aspect that I have completely overlooked.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Many thanks
