Rallying call for all interested: Colonisation of the Moon mod!

If truth be told I prefer Belizan's version - and my new menu music will go very well with it (as I keep saying). I'll PM it to y'all so you can see for yourselves...
That may be true(about Geomodders version) but try to incorportate it into civ;)

On a similar note, whose idea was it to have impassable dust seas only outside the owner's territory? Because that's a really GOOD idea. Kudos to whoever thought of that!
That is only do to a bug in civ4.;) TerrainInpassible does not seen to work in your territory. This really bugs me because it can cause problems.

I sent mine before logging off last night so I hope you got them.
Yes, I did get them. Though my mail seemed slow in getting them.

Do you guys want me to send you what I have or do you want to wait till tonight. I want to change the map script tonight so that players dont start so close together at certian times? We are also missing some botton art.(Mainly for the new turrets)

I think the Electrolysis (sp?) building has a bug. When constructed, it adds a +1 food to the foodbox correctly, but if I then change a worker on a plot to a specialist it distracts 1 more food from the foodbox then it should. Example I put a worker off a glasshouse, meaning -2 food in the foodbox, but it distracts -3 now. This only happens once, switching more workers to specialists does distract the correct number of food.

Biodome improvement (--> wasn't that supposed to be agrodome now?) can't be constructed yet after hydroponics is discovered. Same with another improvement, but forgot which one out of hand.

't Has been said before, but those ranged arties are irksome for not being able to put the planes to sleep.

Nice music in the intro. ;) Reminds me quite a bit of Van Halen. :D

Are some of the improvement names now set in stone? Can't figure out the fluff behind the word "solar extractor" for instance on oxygen resource.

Something else. I started a game with the northamerican primal people mod, and I could see the flags of those modded civs, but not the (round) buttons for the new units in it. Starting to think this problem is more of how the buttons/flags are made instead of a graphics card problem.

@JBG: Thank you, and won't you agree that a screenshot of the moon in the "Return to Earth" mission would make a splendid view for the introscreen? :D

Very possible. This is the sort of feedback we need. :)

I'm not sure what happened to that, but it did fall in between the cracks.

Indeed.

Definitely not set in stone. We wanted something other than an ice extractor. We do need a new name. Maybe Gas extractor?

Keep up the good feedback.

How's it working for you? We had no horrible bugs and I think we do need to get this out while we have front page mention! :) I don't need a copy until later. Hopefully JBG will simply use your version to put into a new thread.

I can't figure out improvement buttons and I wanted those for the build option buttons. I had trouble finding three turret pics! Finding three more should be fun. :p If you're waiting until tonight I'll try to find some more when I get home, but I won't edit anymore XML.

The problem sprung from the fact that we had two things called 'biodome'. We decided to keep the name for the CITY improvement, and use 'agrodome' for the TILE improvement.

Try giving them tranquiliser shells.

Glad you like it. It's Lisa Gerrard (I think) actually. Or not. Can't really remember where I got it now.

That comes from the idea of using solar heat/energy to force the useful stuff out of moon rock in the form of vapour and gas, &c. It's essentially a big magnifying glass with the business end of a vacuum cleaner shoved up the other end...

Maybe there's another round button file directory somewhere?

What 'return to Earth mission'? I think Nexus is a really good artwork generator, personally. But if we could get a shot (say) of the moon hanging over the limb of the Throneworld that'd look really good...

Actually matthewv, can you send that CvEventManager.py file to me if you added that movie removing script? And if you can, can you send it as a rar since my email removes wordpad type files. Thanks

I thought I emailed this.(yes it was a .rar) Did you not get it?

I hope you guys do realize the main menu background is a .nif file. Thus it is difficult to completely change how it looks.(I just edited the .dds files that are attacted to the main menu .nif file) I do hope to eventually look into edit .nif files with the new tools that are out there now but that is going to have to wait.

Too bad, and I just had this marvellous screenshot...

This attachment is in JPG, but the original one is a .bmp file of 2.26 megs. :crazyeye:

Beautiful, Maybe I can trick Civ4 into getting that to work without playing with .nif files ;) (Hopefully I can pull the same trick as JBG did with the leaderheads.)

I really love the earth in the background.(Implimenting this is second on my priority list tonight)

Edit: I can't wait to play with that pic to se what I can come up with.

If you can find some I will be very pleased(I hate pink buttons)

If you want the original file (the .bmp one) to work with just PM me an email address and I can sent it over by a mediaire handling big(ger) mails.

Things do look quite a bit sharper on it.

That screenshot would go *brilliantly* with the new music I sent you lot.

Keep in mind, though, that there's going to be the two menus on-screen, plus the big Civ IV splash text. It'd be a shame to have the throneworld covered up by the big IV...

Except for the fact that I have complete comtrol over the big Civ IV splash text.:D I could even get rid of it intirely if I wanted to.;)

I didn't check my home email since 8pm EST last night so it very well could be waiting for me.

Before you do, Woodelf, try this one. Not that I want to outdo GeoModder or anything :hatsoff: but I think this one is (at least) different. In order of close-ness, from left to right, you have Luna, the throneworld, the Milky Way, and Andromeda :borg:

And that shot with Earth in the background kicks ass!
now If I can get the stars in the backgroud to rotate we would have the ultimate menu screen.(not realistic the have the earth rotate around the moon since you only have one side of the moon facing the earth.)

And I can improve the quality of Luna on demand...
