Hi,
I am a Civ5 newbie and had my first set of crashes and also found a fix. :king:

I am playing as Germany in Warlord difficulty with 8 teams. I am in team with USA.
Map is tilted axis with 10+ city states.
There are 4 teams
Team 1 (Germany and USA)
Team 2 (Iroquois and Korea)
Team 3 (Siam, Inca and Egypt)
Team 4 (Byzantine, Assyria and Mongol)

About 10-15 turns before turn 440, I had defeated another team consisting of Hiawatha (Iroquois) and Sejong (Korea). I captured all cities belonging to Sejong but he had some units like missionaries across the world and hence he did not delete himself from team list even though he had no cities. Hiawatha had 3 cities left when I agreed to peace treaty. All was going well until turn 440 when the game would crash while status message was 'processing turn for Hiawatha'. I tried various combinations but game always crashed at turn 440.
Then I realized that status message is misleading. When it says 'processing turn for Hiawatha', its actually executing turn for country before 'Hiawatha' and that was 'Sejong'. As 'Sejong' had no city, I thought maybe that was the issue. So I gifted him one of captured cities (not his own) and the turn 440 didn't crash. Instead message came up after 'Hiawatha's turn' that 'Sejong/Hiawatha had completed Manhattan project'. So I knew that was the problem. The Civ5 was looking for a city belonging to Sejong and he did not have any city in that turn and hence the crash.

To replicate the problem, I continued playing and defeated few more countries. At turn 475, two countries (Egypt and Inca) still show up in team list but have no cities.
A few turns ahead (i can't remember exact one as it was 1am in morning), the game crashed with processing turn for 'Inca'. The team of Siam/Egypt/Inca must have completed some research and hence the crash.

The root of this issue is a setting in 'Advanced Setup' called 'Complete Kills' [which means 'With this game setting enabled, you must completely remove a Civilization's Units for them to be removed from the game. In many cases, a Civ still has a Military or Civilian Units left after losing their last City. This gives them a chance to take it back.'] With this setting enabled, if there are units left for a country after it has lost its last city, he remains in team list and if this team completes a research while he has no cities, the game crashes.

This can be prevented by
1> Disable the setting
2> No teams

I have attached all concerned civ5 saves.
