Sigma chess.I have it on my Mac.Aside from playing poorly,it is a great little program. You can look at branch lines without wrecking the main position, which is real handy.
I accept, since that is all I have been playing for,for some time.
1/2-1/2
I was wondering if I was missing something.42.f5 looked natural. You were ahead of yourself
In this position,44.Rcf1 and 45.Be5 looked interesting if black plays 44...Kg8.Black has a tough decision between Ke6 and Kg8 on move 44.I was favoring Ke6 although the complications arising from Kg8 were tempting.....
That was a brutal game.I'd like to say I'm looking forward to our 2nd game but I'd be lying
What happened is a combination of silly things on my part. I spilled a mug of tea into my keyboard and my darn game file got messed up. Then when i went back to analyzing i didnt play the game through but just set up the position from my analysis. Unfortunately i included h4 and Bf3. Then played g5 of course Kg7 in that position allows f5 and then f6. I should have realized it looked to good to be true.
42. f5 looks natural but i think it only draws. I was looking more to get in h5, h6. Black had a lot of resources in the position. If you stay on the g4 with B on f3 for example. All the lines leadnig to rook swaps and exchanging the g pawn for the a pawn are dead drawn. The extra white C p is useless and without the connected K side p's there's no way to force a win with the opposite B's. I think I went astray letting you swap off N's. Your B became very strong.
To backtrack a bit. I was saying how i never liked the Paulsen and this game illustrates exactly why. The Sozin bishop is such a dangerous threat when you play that Pauslen Nbd7 manouver because e6 becomes such a weak square in blacks camp.
Was quite an enjoyable game. Thanks and sorry for ending it in such a weak fashion. Look forward to the rematch.
