Blitz is a lot of fun. I play the odd tournament, last one was in Sept but im very intermittent now. It is kinda fun to whip some old lines out of the bag and puzzle a few folks.

I found the strain of weekend swisses a bit too much to be a regular. Kinda went back to work more worn out than when i left on Friday heeh. I used to be a fanatic tho. The only thing i have ever done with a USCF rating was postal US tournaments many many moons ago (I'm not american). I think my US rating in postal was around 2025 USCF then.

I don't know how postal rating compare to otb. My rating is about 8-10 yrs. old. It's been a while since I played in a tourney. I lived in the US up until about 2.5 yrs. ago, but I havn't had much time for chess since college.

For me postal ratings were always higher by a bit but i don't know if thats a general result or not. Guess it depends how much time you spend analyzing...

I've never had a postal rating, but since OTB I often got into time pressure, I suspect that my postal strength would be higher. There is another factor to concider: different rating systems (even if they use the same formula) will rate the same strength differently.
