Realism mods?

Bought the game when it first came out and didn't enjoy it because of the lack of realism and historical accuracy. I awaited mods to come out but the progress was rather slow and now that some time has passed I would like to get back into the game. Features I care about:

Realism
Historical Accuracy (to a point)

Rhyes and Fall was the staple for these two things in CIV 4 and I understand that it is currently in dev for 5 but I am interested in something now to hold me over. Thanks!

Why don't you come back in a bit when the DLL is released and make a mod request...someone might pick it up.

Just don't be like: "Hey guys I have this idea and it would be really cool if someone would do all the work but put my name on it"

Rhyes is already working on something very similar to what is in the OP, but that will of course take time and the DLL as well. I would never make a mod request and want my name put on it lol, very limited in modding knowledge myself.

But there are no mods currently that even attempt realism and historical accuracy?

Um, that depends. What kind of realism and historical accuracy are you looking for? It's very hard to replicate such a thing in game - also very restrictive - which is why Civilization is built the way it is. Are you thinking of Total Realism from Civilization IV?

Realism has different meanings.

1) Complete and utter realism - that's what Rhye's is attempting to replicate.
2) Realistic elements - still random games, with elements and systems borrowed from real life
3) Psuedo-build-your-own-world-realism? - Basically base civ 5, you are presented with a tech tree that resembles actual human achievement throughout history and you write your own history, without obvious occurances such as plagues, dark ages, and other stuff that really only serve to piss people off with their randomness.

Closest thing to realism that is currently applicable with the modding situation. Closest thing to number one I guess/

It's hard for me to say, I could have given you a full list of what needed to be changed 2 years ago but since then I have forgotten and can really only remember that it generally didn't have much realism/historical accuracy to it.
