new to this mod, can someone tell me why my cities keep rebelling and is there a way to prevent this?

Keep your citizens happy and healthy. Further away a city is from capital, higher chance of revolt. Keep your economy up. Station troops in cities, bribe with gold accept rebel terms.

Yes, as the above posters mentioned, there are various ways. You can bribe the cities in the revolutions advisor screen (it's located just next to all other advisor buttons) as a temporary solution. You should always keep your civics up to date as well as they are much more important with this mod. That means that it is practically impossible to get to future era with over 10 cities with chiefdom and a tribal society... Look for civics that decrease rebelliousness and increase happiness. Then, build buildings that increase happiness as well.
