Alright, I as well as others have had trouble with the Redundancy Error when reinstalling on our computers whether the reinstall is a small problem with patch or simple case of forgot to backup my files and I'm a ******(my problem)
After my 3rd attempt of reinstalling the game I got my 3rd error message. I looked online people said return it and get a new one. Problem is...I got it for christmas, no recept... Hell, I lost the box in my room and i doubt even wallmart will take that back. So I kept reading, and a few people said they got it to work. NEVER SAID HOW! which is why im writing this to help those who need it. Basically, I figured if they got it to work, its not the computer and its a problem that can be bypassed. My guess is Disc 2. I tried to copy to desktop, no good got another error about redundacy. So.. I kept reading..Then I came across a post that said they loaded fine on their friends computer. I took this idea and popped it into another computer, copied data3.cab into "New Folder" put it on the Sharing Network on my lan line, and then sent it to my computer.
As i sent it and did the copying I ran the first disc on the computer. By the time the first disc was done the Data3.cab was already on the desktop. It asked for disc 2 I browsed and told it to look on the desktop. Loaded fine. And Now I'm installing patch.
Now, as most of you know or will know after I say this, Redundancy means excessive. So, I'm guessing it means Excessive Installs. Which means I've installed, uninstalled, and reinstalled a little to much. So to avoid this error, Don't uninstall unless neccessary. If you find your self doing this, then atleast make backup disc.s
