Referendum - Tech Trading 1142AD

This is an official referendum, posted by request of Secretary of State robboo. Please decide which tech trade, if any, you would like to execute at the next TC.

I support the trade as I have discussed in the thread. Please read the thread first so we dont have to rehash old points. ICe brings up some good points that have merit. However I still favor the trade.

This won't help us catch up in techs, you msut remember it is a "dead-end" tech and the only use of it as of now is horse archers. Maybe we should trade for it when we acquire or research guilds, so we can build knights then, but atm horse archers are becoming more obsolete in most parts of the world. Also if we trade away a tech, that doesn't help us catch up, it puts us in a position farther away.

The basics:

HBR is a dead end tech and won't help us catch up (-1)
Horse Archers are becoming weak in the rest of the world (-1)
HBR will only (atm) provide us with Horse Archers (0)
HBR would be cheaper to purchase by the time we have guilds (-1)
Only once we research guilds will we need HBR (0)
Guilds + HBR allows us to train knights (+1)

So if you look at it my way with positive/negatives, it comes out trading for HBR is negative (-2)

I don't see where were benefiting from, unless of course we plan to go to war.

Don't put yourself down, ice. You put some good ideas up and it was a pretty close poll. I think this is what we should be doing in the DG.
