I thought I'd start a new thread for the current version.

While playtesting I noticed a couple of things:
-the ctds caused by formations seem to have vanished with the patch
-chariots are overpowered now - spearmen/pikemen should get boni against chariots as well-forgot about difference to mounted)
-I also forgot to replace the generic ancientunits with the reman units for Tilea:mischief:
-there is a strange errormessage in the logfiles that says obelisk.nif doesn't contain shadownode, shadow gets corrupted:confused:
-Leader AI still needs to be tweaked(looking forward to this:rolleyes: )
-we really need the firststrikefix and the Lopez new version of Wateranimals!
-Empire needs Chariot in Ancient era as well.
-If a civ(finally) starts a war it really does it well. Louen was winning:cry: (but that may be cause of overpowered chariots- he had dozens of them and I nothing to counter)
-We need to find a better way than national units to restrict unittypes built soon!

City Maintenance is an absolute killer. I have 5 cities (starting with 3 settlers) and am paying out 8 gold when my income is 18-20. My research is about to come grinding to a halt.

I don't have an issue with multiple settlers as much as the penalties for having cities.

We need an early market to give some gold and also some early buildings in general. I know this is WARhammer, but building buttloads of warriors because there is nothing else to build is a tad boring.

Agreed. In most of the games I've played so far it felt a bit slow while I researched early techs. I'm usually busy exploring with my scouts, but they quickly get eaten by Grizzly Bears and I'm left with nothing to do.

I do think the biggest strength of WHFB will be the scenarios, where the emphasis is more on premade maps and tactical manoeuvring. We totally have to recreate the original Battle For Maugthrond Pass from the Warhammer box set. :)

I might crank up a game starting in era 2 and see what happens. :) I used to do that with FfH since I got sick of seeing the basic stuff over and over and over.
