Release - what time of day?

I am starting to take offense now.... :( Did you not read the comment?.. It was a joke. What part of "we all received it on the same time"( i mistakenly thought it was a global release ) do you not understand? Is the use of winking smilie faces too ambigious?

Stop getting confused by the time zone mojo , the release will be SIMULTANEOUS everywhere in the world at midnight pacific time. At this moment it will be 9 AM in europe. nuff said , right ?

So no VPN or stuff will be needed , we will all be playing at the same second.

Do you have a source for that?
Firaxis had staggered releases before.

Wel, i remember BE was not release globally, i used a vpn in australia to unlock it way ahead of time. So until there s an official word on this, it s not much but speculation

Both Civ V expansions, both Xcoms and BE were not done that way. They were staggered. Same with Mafia 3 I believe which was also just released by 2k games.

Simultaneous doesn't really matter to anyone, however, even if you are correct about the release time. People care about the release in relation to their own sleep, work, school and family cycles, which could place their opportunity to actually play the game anywhere from 5 to 20 hours (or more, depending on the exact circumstances they have to deal with) from a hypothetical 'simultaneous' release. And as a simultaneous point to pick, Midnight pacific is dazzlingly bad for the americas, pretty poor for most Europeans, and only gets pretty good as you wander further east (away from the majority of customers). Not just for people who have a normal work/school schedule, but also in terms of having staff around for any launch problems (which, since they're on eastern time, and it'll be 3am, it is perhaps the worst possible time to choose).
