ENEMY ACE™ has noticed a bit of an upsurge of religious zeal on the
Forums lately, and always one to leap onto a bandwagon, he has decided to
Indulge his favourite hobbies; to observe people’s faiths and ideas,
And attempt to make sense from this crazy game…life.

So, to further this research ENEMY ACE™ would like to ask those of you
Who are into religion; be it any faith. What are your views on?

Agnostics
Atheists,
Pagans,
Wiccans,
New Age people,
Astrology,
Those who practice ‘magic’,
And idol-based faiths.

I am intrigued as to what your views on other ways of life may be…

Feel free to talk frankly about you views, but NO TROLLING!
I want to learn from other views, not read bad vibes…

So get thinking!

Well, this will be.....entertaining.

:ripper: :rocket: :rocket3: :rocket2: :spank:

Good! :goodjob:

I voted 'Very Tolerant', btw.

I believe in live and let live, no big deal, to each his own and, most important, how someone lives is NOBODY'S BUSINESS but theirs!! :midfinger

From my Christian perspective, I do not except any other religion as truthful. The Bible states that there is only one God, the God of Israel, and the God who came to earth in Christ Jesus to die for our sins.

There is a differance, however, between accepting others beliefs as valid and intolerance of people who are of different persuations.

I recognize that I am a sinner, just as those who do not accept the power of God. Therefore to judge them here would be hipocritical. God will ultimately judge all. Instead, we (Christians) are instructed to show to all others the love we have been show by Christ, unconditional love. Bearing witness in this way is not only a positive way to live, but the most effective evangelical tool.

It was once said: "The greatest single cause of athiesm is Christians who acknowledge Christ with their lips, but not with their hearts."

Let the flaming begin...

(I'm very tolerant. Let people do what they will and just let the chips fall where they may.)

I disagree with all of those. I tolerate them though.

BTW has anyone ever seen anyone who claims to practice magic? Once I heard one person say something about it on another web site.

I am very tolerate of other people's practices as long as it doesn't involve spamming or flamming.

This will not turn into a flame war, this is your warning. Ignore this warning and suffer the concequences.

I didn't respond to your poll, I felt there was not a proper category for me. I am a born-again believer, as in Christian. If by "alternative lifestyles" you mean homosexuals, I do not think that what they do is right. I accept them, I don't harrass them or make fun of them... but I wouldn't say I 'tolerate' them.

A good portion of my friends are homosexual, or at least bisexual, and I don't judge them. I feel it is a sin, but that its not my place to judge sin, and besides all sins are equal to the Lord, and I sin all the time. So the Christian that lets a curse word slip is no better than a child rapist, and neither of them are any better than a homosexual.

If this offends you, tough luck; its how I feel. I'm not going to apologize, but know that it was not my intention to offend anyone. I believe this is a place where opinions can be respected, and would not be angry if a homosexual thought I was in the wrong for having such a close-minded view.

If, by alternative lifestyle, you meant a differing religious view, then I pray to God that I am wrong and they are right; I don't want to think of all those people going to hell. I would love it if everyone who was faithful to whatever they believe would achieve happiness in afterlife, if there is an afterlife. Yet, I cling to my faith, and thus once again don't see myself 'tolerating' others, and yet I wouldn't say they don't bother me, because it bothers me to have the conviction that I am right, but also believing that if I am right, and they are wrong, there will be eternal consequences.

Its late at night, and I am newly arrived from being charmed by a lady-friend... if my answers are fuzzy or not to the point, forgive me.

I respectfully hold a slightly different opinion. I could care less about the first and last one, but that middle one bothers me a bit.

About the question, live and let live.

As a follower of Christ I do of course take His teaching and doings as the Thruth. If I didn't I would not be a Christian. After His teaching is there only one way to God, and that is through Him.

Jesus Christ never condemmend anyone. He always told people to believe in Him, repent from their ways and told them to "... go and sin no more!" But He never talked about how sinfull they were. Jesus was tolerate with people. He loved the people but He did not love their sin. Instead of forcing a belief on people or condemming people, He showed them a better and different path to walk on. That path was to follow Him and become like Him.

When my Master was tolerant with people I too am tolerate with people. When I see people living in sin I will never condem them, but I will talk to them about how Jesus was and what an example He showed. But then it will be up to the people to decide for them selves. No matter what desicion people make I will not condem them. If they choose to continue on their old path, I will not condem them but pray for them, because that is what Jesus would do.

Hmm,

I am impressed that so many people of varying tastes have what
I consider healthly respect for other's faiths.

I will clear up some stuff first;

By different lifestyles I meant people who didn't have a religious
upbringing, I meant no reference to sexual preferences,
This poll is not about that, I have no problem with people's
private relationships, it's their own business.

But I am happy at the positive stuff I am seeing here,
let's have more, and I endorse the Hand of Mod;
I haven't spotted any nastiness yet, so let's keep it civil!

Good posts, all!

Quite a few people I am friendly with study magic and divining,

I also know several ladies who are witches,
I am friendly with loads of athiests,
and to add to the mix I know many good muslims, buddhists
and several enlightened christians of varying types...

And I will say this about all of them;
you couldn't meet nicer people...

WHAT DOES MY TITLE SUGGEST TO YOU? :) :king:

I am generally tolerant, as the law does not allow for burning at the stake anymore, which is a jolly good spectacle, and gets the kids away from the TV screen.:D

People make their own choices, and live with them. It is not my place to persecute (at least on ground of religion) The one exception is Satanists, who I do not like at all.

As for witchcraft and wizardry, the only proponent of those arts I like is named Harry.;)

I think it may be important for people to have a clarification on witchcraft. A friend of mine is a wiccan, and that technically makes him a witch (or warlock). It is a religion of its own, and does not involve very much if any aspects of the classical halloween witch. I think that it may be important for some to have this distinction.

Just my buck two eighty.

I honestly don't care what others do in their spare time, but as a nondevout Catholic, I do find many things strange and confusing.

Good post.
I will also make this distinction;

Most followers of wicca and the old ways are not into satanism,
as some may have misconceptions about this.

Being non-christian. wiccans and myself for that matter,
see satan as a part of the chrsitian mythology,
and therefore nothing to do with them...Wiccans look to a dual
role of a god and goddess who represent the cycle of life
and nature, a faith system that has changed little for 1000's of years...

(witches, wizards or whatever you wish to call them)
There are also many variations of the pagan faith,
and many cultural influences, and to my knowledge, they
do not fight over differences in viewpoint.

Many faiths could learn from these guys!

all are based on my religion, that teaches that any form of faith or warship is good for your energy... kinda like karma or chi, only I call it "the great luck"

Salam,

I am a very very devout muslim. Part of the devotion is acceptinging that other religions

"Let there be no compulsion in religion, Truth stands out clear from Error." Quran 2:256

To impose my beliefs on others would be to blaspheme against my own faith.

Besides, none can guide but the Lord.

A fine post, BigBirdZ28!

And my apologies for forgetting to mention the fact that this
poll is for ALL faiths, not just christian-based systems.

Everyone is welcome!

Hi, Pellaken.
By 'new age people' I am thinking travellers,
and those who make pilgrimages to stonehenge, etc.
