Anyone else fascinated by the religious music in this game? Anyone else rushing for a specific religion just so they can hear the music associated with it, and again, and again by spreading it out to everyone?
I know I am!

I'm a big fan of the Buddhism music, with Judaism as a close second.
Islam would be my least favorite, and that's not based on ethnical grounds, I just can't stand the instrument they use for it. (Is it a variation of the scottish bagpipes? ick)

And what's with the Taoism music? It's so exotic that I had to make it my windows start up sound. :goodjob:

Do you mean those horrible noises that play whenever a religion spreads?
You're right, I find myself rushing to Christianity and Taoism very often because they're the only ones that I don't find annoying.:p

The music on the main screen, on the other hand, is lovely. Anyone know what they're actually saying, or are they just doing the tribal equivalent of "shooby-do-wah-wah"?

I guess I'll have to play around with the volume settings, but I've noticed the ambient sounds in the ancient era are very subtle and quiet... then somebody founds a religion and it breaks me out of the intense concentration this game always provokes in me. I don't have much time to play but I can't wait to hear the later religions.

But anyways, I copied the culture expansion sound (some kind of synthesized strings I guess) and made it my e-mail sound at work. Everybody loves it!!

I love Christian sacred music, and have listened to music from Vivaldi, Mozart, Bach, and Handel, as well as simple Gregorian chants. If I can figure out how to get Windows Media Player to rip my cds to MP3's instead of WMA's that would be great. Baba Yettu went the way of the dodo on my computer as quickly as possible, I couldn't stand it, although I read here that alot of you like it. I think it's a lame attempt at being politically correct.

would you any of you guys know the song that start to play in the last era that looks like a bit like Wagner's Valkiries or Prokofiev's Dance of the knights ? its a classical song which I really like...

i found the religous music sounds annoying...and yeah, i know some jewish prayers and the thing the jewish missionary is saying doesn't come very close to what i know so it probably is the equivalent of "shooby-doo-wah" maybe they didn't want to put real prayers in there cuz it might have offended religous types

the hindu one as well is generic gibberish. It's a nice attempt, but not nearly as cool as the fact that clicking on your units has them respond in language =)

For anyone that has heard of it, Hinduism is a like 'sample sound' from the game 'Afterlife'. Kind of like a Sim City of Heaven and Hell. Its the music in heaven I think.
Neat little fact. I think there is like shared pool of video games past somewhere programmers may use to get some generic sounds. This is one I have heard a few places now. Fun and pointless fact :P

Actually now that you mention it, it really does sound like it's from that game. Heaven and hell didn't have different soundtracks though.
