I'm trying to remove volcanos with FireTuner Ingame, like I remove Jungle, Forest, Reef, (like any feature). The Volcano visually disappears but it still can be active and erupt.
To my knowledge you cannot. In all experimentation I have done once a plot is tagged in map generation as being either a Volcano or a Lake plot they remain a Volcano or a Lake plot forever afterward. You can transform a lake plot into land and place land resources / features / improvements on it, and the game still reports it forever afterward as being a lake plot in tooltips and the like even when it then treats it as a land plot for all other purposes.
Volcanos simply cannot be removed. All that results is that the graphics become messed up (especially when the Volcano erupts) and the game treats the plot otherwise as a sort of hybrid Volcano/Not-Volcano plot.
Interesting, I remove volcanos all the time using FireTuner. Just close the game afterwards and remove the cache, then restart the game. It's totally gone.
