hi people
Does any one know how to remove Windows Media Player 9?

Heres where Im at so far:
I got the windows security update cd in the mail a few days ago and ran it. One of the side effects was it installed windows media player 9. I have not yet clicked the agree button on the licence message that comes up so I have not yet used it(if this makes it easier).

I have tried to reinstall windows media player 7.1 it did not remove media player version 9.

And theres no uninstall option in the add/remove programmes in the control pannel.

Have windows 98 SE

Thanks For any help

Microsoft says that you should be able to remove it from the control panel, ( link! )
If you haven't clicked to accept the EULA yet, are you sure it's been fully installed yet?

I thought there was some DRM stuff in version 9 that couldnt be removed and also 9 dosent look as good as 7.1
But I didnt see any of that stuff in the licence agreement this time so I m using it now

I think im as happy as Ill be for now

thanks guys

Can't help with the DRM stuff forced on you, but MediaPlayer9 can use skins... and one of them is exactly like the old MediaPlayer.

For some reason I always best enjoy the looks of Microsoft's latest products. WinXP, media player, Office...

I don't know if they actually look better, or if I like it because it's new, or if they know what people will like soon and create their products in that way? :crazyeye:

find the mplayer.exe / mplayer2.exe and swap their names.
