Removing Civilizations

If I want to remove a civilization from this Earth map I've been playing, how do I do it? I've barely looked into the World Builder, and I don't know the principles about map customization. If this is the wrong forum for this question, please tell me.

Open the a copy of the worldbuilder file in notepad (or any other text editor) - don't use the original, in case you screw something up or want to use the unmodded later. Each civ on the map has an entry that starts with "Begin Player" and ends with "End Player". Delete the entry. Save. Enjoy.

The game crashes whenever loading a new game with my modified version of the map. Aren't there other entries which "belong" to the one I deleted? I've already done a few experiments, but nothing seems to do the trick.

If someone could give it a shot, I would really appreciate it. The original map is attached to this message.

well... tell us which civ you want removed and I'll do it, along with any other minor changes you might want.

It would be great if you could replace the Aztecs with the Portugese, and make the Portugese start on the east side of the Andes mountains.

ok here it is. I changed just a few things to give portugal a decent start, not much, but there was just too much jungle and not many resources so I added a couple, and removed a little jungle. Also since I'm assuming you have BtS since you want portugal in there, it is now a beyond the sword map instead of just regular civ4.

Enjoy,

Shiggs

Right, can I add Civilizations to this map? I mean, past the 18 Civ mark?

Gooblah, not unless you were using this map with a mod that adds available civs. For example the 40Civ Dll mod.

ManUnited4Ever, your welcome. If you want any other small changes just say so.
