Replacing players in pbem's

Ok we have all been in the situation where a player "falls of the end of the world" or maybe "walks through a door into the twilight zone". But in the end I forgot to get the passwords in the beginning. LESSON NO 1 Always get passwords when you start a game.

On experimentation I have found that:
I have the admin password and can access another players turn using it, this allows me to put in a new password but I have to play the turn.

QUESTIONS
Can I do it without opening the game?
Where is there any information on how to use the admin password?
Does anyone know the answers?
Will my lottery numbers come up this week? Err, no sorry I know the answer to that one already

I'm afraid I cannot answer your questions but here is a good one for you ...

We just lost a player for France in WW2 Global ... I got the admin password to act as caretaker of the position ( I am also Britain, which is played right before France ) so I went to open the French save ( which I had previously sent on to the original French player ) and guess what happened ........... the position opened up without requiring the admin password - it didn't even ask me for the password

That means they don't have a password.
