Have a game going at the moment where I’m enjoying a good run as the Arabs, having built up a good “core” kingdom and expanding outwards into new areas or areas not under other civ control.

Have had a long-time war with Portugal, which they started. I’ve copped no rep hits for continuing the war obviously, and have gathered four other civs who like me (due to my trading with them) in on a MA to kick Henry’s butt.

Thing is, I’ve conquered as much of Portugal as I wanted. I’ve gotten Lisbon (with help from Germany and Korea … I belted a couple of defenders, then they did, then I snuck in and finished things off) and there’s only two cities of Portugal’s empire left.

So, two queries really.

1 – should I continue the way and maybe grab another city (they are a bit remote, and my expeditiary forces are depleted).

2 – If I decide to grab peace with Henry, and grab all the money, techs, workers, etc, before his kingdom falls under German and Korean rule – do I lose reputation in the eyes of those who I have MAs with against Portugal. In other words, do I take a rep hit for pulling out of the war I have dragged them into in the first place?

If the 20-turn alliance has not yet expired, yes you take a rep hit.

Thanks gmaharriet - so the best idea might be to either continue attacking and gain some more cities, or pull back and let the German MWarriors mace Portugal to death?

well it depends...if you think 1. you will be able to capture more cities and 2. they would do you any good once you capture them, then by all means :ar15:

Hmm - I'd normally go the attack route, but they are only a couple of 1-2 size cities - one in a cruddy location. I might let the Germans finish them off and get a settler up and going, and ready to wander in and form a city in a nearby good spot if there's a chance...
