Barbarians

Dark eldar will be the barbarians for this mod. To replace the civ warrior, A dark eldar warrior. To replace the horseman, A dark eldar raider vehicle.

This is open to discussion and addition, ~ means I havent figured out what I want to put there. Civs are hopefully definite, but UUs are not.

Ok
...just some thoughts about Angels post (with me).

The Eldar Craftworlds can be ONE civ, as they never fight against each others.
...and for barbarians, I dont know if the choice of Dark Eldars is the right one... I think they are to sophisticated to be barbarians. So I would see one alien race to be the barbarians (if any).

And should we include the NECRONS and the TAU?

Hmmm....thats a good point. Though I think those who play eldar would want to see their craftworld get an edge on jet bikes, or seeing ranks of proud white + green guardians advancing against lesser craftworlds, or whatever. Theres a lot of scope in having different civs for eldar.

Units

First off, we need to create the more recognizable units for each race. This will hopefully create more interest in the mod, and will allow the sharing of units on the forums. Which is a good thing.
And by the way, these stats are low, because these units are intended to be used in a universe of their own, rather than alongside the current civ3 unit stats. If you wish to use these units, when they are completed, I suggest you change the stats to be much higher, at the end of the modern age, But keep them in balance with each other, like they are here.

Imperials: Space marine 4 4 1 foot. 150 sheilds
This unit is intended to be the supreme infantry unit early on, but at a prohibitively high cost.

Eldar : Guardian 2 2 2 foot 75 sheilds
A weak unit, but fast and cheap, to represent the eldars natural characteristics, and the use as a scout will help reinforce the theory that eldar know a lot more than the rest of the galaxy.

Orks: Ork Boyz 3 2 1 foot 60 sheilds
This unit shows the orks ferocity and resilience in attack, but those players who are worried about their well trained guardsmen being overwhelmed by orks, do not fear. The orks do not get barracks till late in the game, whilst imperial forces start with barracks.

Chaos: Chaos Marine 3 3 1 foot 125 sheilds
Powerful forces in their own right, but years under the corruption of chaos have made them less than normal marines.

this makes more sense as a word document.....

...yes it is, but remember that we have to do ALL the units!!!... therefor in the beginning it can be ONE civ, and as time go by, we can seperate them apart.... :D
...just a thought....

Yeh....I mentioned the four main chapters above.
Here a the civ colours we could use

The Imperium
1. Ultramarines blue

2. Blood Angels Red

3. Dark Angels Dark green

4. Armageddon Defence Force Brown

5. Space wolves Light blue / yellow if imperial fists

The Eldar
1. Biel-tan Light green civ colour

This is the craft world we should use as the eldar colours, as they are most often represented in the pictures. They will be white with green civ coloured bits...

The Orks
1. Goff orks Brown

2. Feral orks Blue

Chaos
1. Khorne Red

2.Slaneesh UU:

3.Tzeentch UU:

4.Nurgle UU: Light green

Barbarians Purple

Shouldn't the Space Wolves be grey/white?

And what kind of map system are you thinking of?

I was thinking it would be cooler to have a star system type terrain model rather than a planetary model ala current Civ3.

Does anybody remember the old Moo2 Scenario for Civ2, that is sort of what I am thinking.

I just think it would be cooler in a random game, rather than a scenario, to have to control star systems, and travel through space.

In a scenario like "Battle for Armageddon" clearly we would want a world map.

Yeh kal-el....no offence. But i did mention that earlier on. Theres not really much call for water based units in wh40k...So the space idea would enable us to include battlefleet gothic ships.

A battle for armageddon scenario Would be dead easy. One large pangea to represent armageddon (I think it only has one populated continent)
The sea would represent space, With the orks starting off without settlers , but lots of space ships +troops. Any minor islands can represent orbital and system defences.

being as the Imperial guard + Space marine tech trees belong together, this would help to represent the late arrival of the marines.

Kal- el, can I add you on msn?
