Request mods currently only available on steam

For various reasons (mostly where I live) it is hard to get a reliable internet connection. I tend to buy boxed versions of games when available. I fell in love with this site during Civilization V. Now it is Civilization VI's turn to capture my imagination. I have played a lot of games with various mods from this site and I greatly appreciate the efforts of the modders who make them. All that being said there are a lot more mods I would love to try out but they seem to be exclusively for the steam version of the game and not the dvd version I bought. If anyone has any ideas how I could play these mods I would love to hear from you.

The DVD version is also the Steam version. It's exactly the same thing, because it relies on Steam for DRM.

I should know, because I purchased a DVD copy myself (it was slightly cheaper at the time), I use mods, and have created several mods myself, published on both Steam Workshop and Civfanatics.

I can sympathise with slow download speeds, but most mods are pretty tiny, less than 1Mb if they don't include artwork, and probably less than 100Mb if they do, and since it's the same file it's going to be exactly the same size regardless whether you get it from Steam Workshop, Civfanatics or some other website.
