What will we research next?
I see a few options:
-Civil Service, very expensive, but enables bureaucracy
-Metal Casting, leads to machinery for crossbows, macemen. It also enables workshops, forges and will lead to naval options.
-Philopsophy, we're halfway already, and it will be a nice trading tech.
-Construction: catapults!
-Calendar, enables plantation but obsoletes obelisks
 
Do we have any plantationbased resources?
 
I think the people could benefit from some more information.

Do our neighbors have any of these techs?

Can we guess what they might be researching, based on their leaders tendencies?

Do we have immediate need for anything the techs might enable? For example with calendar giving plantations, do we need luxury resources, or are our citizens already happy enough? Can we trade the resources?
 
I feel that we need to make contact with the rest of the world asap, which means optics, through metalcasting and machinery.
 
so first metalcasting, or first compass? I'd say metal casting because it's actually a usefull tech.
 
I'd say metal casting, because our citizens are healthy enough that they can support forges.
 
I'll take Metal Casting, unless I see a very good argument before the Turnchat starts.
 
metal casting..as long as we maintain the trades for happiness resources we should not have a problem.:)

I think we also have an incense nearby that once we get calendar we can add to our happiness
