I say never. Any monkey can operate a web server search engine.

From the knowledge I've seen here someone will answer just about any question if you just wait. And usually a short time, too.

I'm with DingBat. Ditto.

I voted never, sometimes i know the answer is in a book i have half open over the bed, and i usually look for the answer.
But i never post the answer here, If you cant recall it you shouldnt answer here.

I voted never. Although I will confess that if there is a topic that particularly interests me and I don't know the answer of the top of my head, I will occasionally consult a book - most of the time I answer of the top of my head.

I don't think it's a big deal. These quizzs are fun, interesting and a good way to learn - however you chose to answer.

Never! Wild guesses are more fun. :p Besides, too lazy to use a search engine to research and no history books around me. :p

Yeah, wild guesses are fun, when i don´t know the answer i always say barbarians from the asiatic steppes.

I put "other"

I allow myself to look up correct spelling or wording sometimes, but only when I'm sure I know the answer. Looking up encyclopedias or web searching when you haven't the foggiest idea would be pointless, of course.

And btw: Not every monkey can do web searches. I see web searching as an art very few people master.
