Retail BTS on D2D Civ4?

Hi,

I'm having a hard time googling this, but would a RETAIL version of BTS work on a D2D Civ4?
(all the things online I've read talk about a digital-download BTS on a retail Civ4!)

D2D claims that it works if the D2D civ4 version is patched to 1.74 - and it seems to work for many people - but not for everyone. I would strongly, strongly recommend staying within on distribution type (i.e. stay with D2D or buy a bundle (complete edition) if you want to go to the disc based version).
