is not a pipe.
As we all know, the Old Civ3 Downloads collection, considered too cumbersome to maintain, was taken down, and replaced with links to the C&C forums.
However, as it appears that searching the forums is now a moderator privelidge, it is very difficult to find a specific item in the myraid.
Therefore, I propose a new Civ3 Downloads section. Rather than simply links to unsearchable forums, this new webpage would provide links to threads with specific downloads in them. This eases pressure on the webmasters, as they wouldn't have as much to keep up. This also provides a better way of browsing through the creations of the forum's users, especially for those who may be unfimiliar with the site.
Each new entry would have a link to the thread, a description, and optional direct links to a download and an optional picture.
New entries could be created by individuals submit their own entries with a public form. The webmasters could then edit from grammer, etc., filter out bad entries, and forward them on to be posted.
Once this system is set up, you could do more things, like create a 'download of the month' from the archives.
