As these images show the improvements are visible before you have valid knowledge of them.

What is the bug here? Rice is always visible (you do not have to discover a specific tech for it). And FOW would not hide a resource you have seen it.

FOW hides enemies, not resources.

I think he's referring to improvements. The rice in the screenshots have been farmed/plantationed (forget which one improves rice).

it is? When I farm rice it turns all blue swirled. but even still, FOW would not hide the farm if the farm was there when it was revealed from unexplored (IE another civ farmed it and then lost that city to barbs before exploring the area).

I think in both screenshots the rice has been visibly farmed, though I'm not certain about this. In the first shot it shouldn't appear farmed unless you only got close enough to see the rice tile and not the city. Are you sure this wasn't the case? Can this be duplicated with other resources, because I've never noticed it?

If it is a bug it is very trivial, but should still go on the fix-it list.

I'd say its pretty far feteched to "guess" that I saw the rice improved, then the city got destroyed and then I doctored up two screenshots to show a bug that doesn't in fact exist. Are you crazy?

The rice was not improved when I first saw it and cleared the blackness, and once it was later settled and improved I magically knew this since it updated in my map, its then when I sent the scout to check it out. I've since found this not to be isolated to rice, wine also has this problem.

Now this is a minor annoyance in a single player game, but when huts aren't updated, and notably not updated UNTIL I actually walk on them clearly some of the programmers were working to get an accurate game. But this is more than an annoyance in multiplayer games.

Rice in FOW always apears as been farmed. The first time I noticed I thought "my" island had been taken by another civ. It hadn't. As soon as I went there and the FOW was cleared the rice was unimproved. Leaving the spot so rice is envoloped in FOW again, it looks as if farmed again. Certainly a bug, certainly anoying :)

Little adendum, rice in FOW looks like unworked improvement. When an improved ricefield is being worked by a citizen it looks like the second picture posted by the TS.
