Risk

I play against my two other brothers and we have decided that whoever gets N.A. or Europe is going to win. One time, I came from Africa, swept over to South America and almost won. But, sadly, I lost.

As for territory picking, we do it by shuffling and picking up a random pile :D

Dependant on where my initial territories lay... (we play by our own rules...). Usually I'll go for a continent or two to provide for the +5 armies continent bonus. I.e. NA, or Europe or a combo of SA and Africa.

Hadn't been playing for years. But used to have a very aggressive rep; as in touch me, and I'll hound you till the end of the game. :)

You want to control territories that bridge other continents.These are most important.You will never control a continent if you don't first have an iron grip on some of these.Not against humans anyways.Your placement should be done with this in mind.

but eventually it just comes down to the luck of the roll.

Yeah. I've had matchs before that just turn into mass armourments. Basically giant draws. I personally like to start w/ SE Asia and Australia. I normally play with three other people. We allow each other to carry on dimplocy. So i will ally with someone, and will stab them in the back once i get an upper hand or i'll work with them to finish off our enemies, they turn the tables.

I usually play the scens because they are more historical related and I love to recreate history. Mostly I play Austria or France. I like it to be the big one and get regularly trashed by my friends. Ah no sometimes I even achieved a stalemate :goodjob:

Starting in South America is best, because from there you can expand to NA or Africa, which are relatively easy to hold.

From Australia, your only way out is to Asia, which is damn near impossible to take and hold with an income of 2 armies.

I sometimes shoot the moon and start in Africa, although it's much harder. Sometimes I get lucky and I'm given 3 territories there; then it's too tempting.

@Imperial-Markus: I think you're talking Castle Risk.

:confused: Castle Risk :confused: I didn't know there were different versions. I talked about Risk from Hasbro where you can play different scens like North America, Europe or Asia.

France was my favorite in Castle Risk...... allthough I think Russia was the best in hindsite due to it's deep territory, and great location for a capital at Moscow which was 2 territories deep. I liked Castle Risk alot better. Especially the card system.

In RISK, I think the Best continent is America. 5 extra Armies with only three entry ways, while, the only other comparible is Australia, which has 2 with one entry way.

South America is a ripoff because it require the defense of 2 entry ways, and only yeilds 2 armies, and the worst is Africa or Europe.

My strategy is to play humbly, and try to pose as little a threat as possible, because I learned the first person to attempt early world domination gets hogpiled, and never has a chance.
