I don't remember if this has been discussed, but I just remembered an interview a couple of months ago where they said that as in CivII, rivers will act as roads in regard to movement. What bothers me is how it will work when, as opposed to CivII, the rivers now go between the tiles as in CivIII (this is confirmed by screenshots).
Will you be able to use only 1/3 of a movement point every time you go from a tile adjacent to a river to another one adjacent to a river, or do the tiles have to be adjacent to the same river and on the same side of that river? What I mean is that, even though it is realistic that rivers act as roads (if you don't consider rapids, waterfalls and such), is the river movement model specialised enough to prohibit movement bonus when crossing between rivers bordering opposite tiles, and crossing to the other side of a river when there's no road to bridge it?
