where do I find ROME and should I install it? where do I put it?

I have downloaded RoM Full 2.8, RoM 2.81 Patch and A New Dawn 1.64, are those still the latest versions?

I just tried installing it and play it, but I got all these XML errors, and I am 100 % sure I did put it in the right place (program files/firaxis/civ4/bts/mods). what did I do wrong?
I put it all in the Rise of Mankind folder (under BTS/Mods), which I already had (had it installed without all the extra stuff). But it didn't work at all, so I deleted it all and I am now downlaoding it all again, and will dive it a last try.
I have asked before in the forum, but what they said didn't work.
I wish there was a place which explained in details where and in which order I put it all (main Mod, patch, a new dawn (1.64?) and ROME... other mods have been pretty easy to install, but I seem to ahve problems with this one.

Thank you (sorry for a very messy post...)

You can find ROME 3.05 for ROM 2.81 right here - http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=344870

It runs with AND 1.64 installed as well.

Install RiseOfMankind2.8Full to your Beyond The Sword/Mods folder

Install riseofmankind2_81patch to your Beyond The Sword/Mods folder

Install ROME 3.05 to your Beyond The Sword/Mods/Rise of Mankind folder

Run the AND 1.64 installer - do not change the installation directory, only change the drive letter if you installed to a drive other than C

After all that, open Windows Explorer and go to your Beyond The Sword/Mods/Rise of Mankind/Assets/Modules folder
- open up MLF_CIV4ModularLoadingControls.xml in your favourite text editor and move ROME's entry to the bottom of the list, so that the end of the file looks like this:

Code:
				<Module>
					<Directory>ROME</Directory>
					<bLoad>1</bLoad>
				</Module>
			</Modules>
		</ConfigurationInfo>
	</ConfigurationInfos>
</Civ4ModularLoadControls>

is there a problem if there is no Rise of Mankind folder? It didn't create it when I extracted the mod file. it only created a folder called Rise Of Mankind full 2.8..

installing A New Dawn created a folder called Rise of Mankind folder, is that the Rise of Mankind folder you ment that ROME is supposed to go in under?

The folder in the rar archive (RiseOfMankind2.8Full.rar) is called Rise of Mankind. In your case I bet it's in the Rise Of Mankind full 2.8 folder you've extracted the mod to.

Ok, looks like the extract process created one too many folders to the path. Go to Rise Of Mankind full 2.8 -folder and there should be 'Rise of Mankind' folder which you need to move (with its contents) to 'Beyond the sword\Mods' -folder. Afterwards you can delete the now empty RiseOfMankindFull2.8 -folder. Now that the mod is in correct place, you can install A New Dawn and other modmods.

thanks a lot. think I fixed, but not sure. I deleted it all and extracted it again. one thing I ahve to ask about again just to make sure.. Is really the patch not supposed to go in under Rise of MAnkind folder? It just doesn't make sense to me..

When I installed AND this time, it didn't give me the option to choose what to install. I used AND 1.64. but I didn't get a woc. error, so I guess it's good or ? there was one or two of the option I don't really want (don't remember which ones)

okay moved the files to the bottom and did everything like I have been told to. will try it later and see. if it's not working I will come back and scream for help hehe. if it does work, you won't see me here again for some time hehe. thanks for all help, appreciate it a lot. these computer things are always confusing, there is always something I do wrong...

I did what I was told, but the game doesn't load. I get to choose map, civic and all the other stuff, but the game itself (after clicking launching) doesn't load. I waited like 10 minutes and nothing seemed to happen, so forced the game to exit (ctrl+alt+del, I know I'm not supposed to...)

Were you loading a Gigantic/Snail game with 30+ civilisations on PerfectWorld, by any chance? Some maps take a really long time to generate.

yes 35 civilizations. but I did it with 50 civilization once. it took a long time, but not that long time. But that wa sthe first time I installed RoM, without the patch, AND and ROME. I am pretty sure I didn't do it right.
