  • Sorry about that, was worried I would annoy people if I started too many new threads. How old is allowed for bumping generally?

I generally work with within a year or so, but for tightly focussed threads, it might be more appropriate to revive older threads. General life/hobby threads can usually manage with a serial thread instead.

Roger that! There are some big, old threads that have been forgotten about, can I message you ahead of bumping them?

    That should be fine, yes.
Still a wee southern jessy, eh?
    Arakhor
    Arakhor
Well, I'm technically Northern, but otherwise, yes, still here in the salubrious South. :)
thanks for spoilering some of my images, posting from mobile doesn't really show you the full size

No problem. My rule of thumb is that if the image scrolls the page on 1920x1080, it's too big. :)
Do you think I could/should make a thread in OT urging people to join your mafia game?
    Arakhor
    Arakhor
You certainly could and I dont think that there's any particular reason why you shouldn't, provided that you're sensible about it.

That rules out Takh for sure.

If you feel you need the players and are willing to put up with whatever new players might come in, sure.
I might include IOT/NES too in a more general ‘hey, if you're quarantined or self-isolated, don't go nuts, come play games’ PSA.
    How's it going, Arak?

Nothing special. Still in Cotswold? (i forget, was it Cotswold?) Will you buy me lunch if I come visit you?
    Arakhor

The Cotswolds (with the definite article) is the geographical area, yes. I'm sure I could stretch to a trip to a café if you were around. :)

Sweet, I'll keep that in mind!
Do you know anything about what's happened with Flying Pig? I miss the guy.

I do too. He said in the summer that he'd be away for a while and I've seen him in passing maybe twice since then.

I haven't seen anything of him online in many months now.
And Constantinople, although the center of the Byzantine empire, is the capital of Turkey today, so the author was probably explaining it the way he understood it. It's a minor error.

I'm well aware of where the Porphyry Chamber was, but thank you. :)
Middlesex was a historical region in England, encompassing London, Westminster and Westminster Abbey. So Henry I did actually marry Matilda in Middlesex. The spelling may be wrong, and the lineage is questionable, but don't dismiss it entirely. And Constantinople WAS the birth place of many of the Byzantine rulers.

I'm British, so I know where Middlesex used to be, but if the writer is going to insist on using a historical place, why list Constantinople as being in Turkey?
Re-reading IOT4 for historical archiving, and completely forgot you'd been shadowing the game. If only you'd been a mod back then, we might've stood a chance against the spam. :p

Close. In Norwegian the 'd' is actually silent, so it's 'Tor-val', though to English speakers it'll sound more like 'Tuhr-val'.

And I thought that Germanic languages were *easy* to pronounce. :p

At least it's not Finnish. ;)
Annoyance: my game as the Umbranmare Hive has to end due to a bug which crashes the game should a science vessel owned by the player either get destroyed or retreat; naturally my Ironman save was set just before one of my science ships kicked the bucket.

Shame: I was looking forward to face off against space UKIP...

Well, yes. It's another anime avatar in a similar style, so I think it fits with your established MO.

I've actually spent a really long time looking for a picture of this character I felt was okay for avatar use
I don't know what to leave a message about :(
I believe I think that most things I can say in any given situation is uninteresting to whoever I'm speaking to

I suffer that problem too, but then that's because I find history, quantum physics and terrible puns to be interesting and not many people do too. That doesn't usually stop me boring people though. :p
If it gives me an opportunity to make an offhand remark about how no one expects the Spanish Inquisition, then I'd be okay with it. ;)
You can say what you want abut him, but he certainly has a way to elicit a reaction for people, no? Me personally I always imagine him as a king from many generations of incestuous love, who needs many Jesters dancing in his court at the same time to entertain him.
That my friend, is down to my on/off activity level here on CFC. When I first joined I only frequented the civ4 sub-forums and my activity was fairly sporadic. Eventually I became active in forum games like mafia, but posts in that sub-forum didn't register in the stats back then. I've always posted some in OT but never been super active there either. Then a few years back I went on a CFC hiatus for a couple of years with just about zero activity. So my post/day stat is bound to be pretty low yeah.
you may feel crappy but do you feel EMASCULATED

that my friend is the real issue
