I wish the round messages will put together in a report like a newspaper. There will be all important news like world news/national news/production/city growth/sabotage/revolts/barbarians... put together under specific headlines. And it would be possible to click on the message and go directly to the place on the map where it take place. But it is also possible to ignore one or all of them:xtree:

Mh, how could this work before the invention of printing press?

It would be nice if they were like a scroll, and didn't clutter up the screen so I can't see the action. Then when my turn starts I can go back and scroll through the events.

Agree completely with OP. Scrolling text is just boring. Newspaper graphic with headlines like "Ghandi invades Sumeria!" would be awesome.

Great idea I love it especially the click to take you to the place. A newspaper also adds some atmosphere to the game like its a real report. Love it

Yes and Yes and Yes Again.

The form of the message could even change with the Era:
Ancient: a clay or stone tablet with letters chiseled in it
Classical: a scroll the unwinds to show the messages
Medieval: a parchment with illuminated letters starting each piece of News
Industrial: a printed Newspaper with engraved illustrations
Modern: Newspaper with Banner Headlines and photos
Atomic: Newspaper with color photos, gossip about entertainers, and Horoscopes
Information: a news feed on a simulated Mobile Device, with about half the news being Fake.

It actually sort of existed in Civ 1 (with added gems like Marie Antoinette's secret diet, Lions vs Gladiators score, etc). Was probably ditched from the series as too last millenium :D

A little bit Yellow journalism and sports of course:D
Civ is not Hearts of Iron. Playing should be fun.
