RTW VS CIV4
i find that civ4 is better than rome in some things e.g borders can expand and you can build new cities and rome:total war is better in other things e.g you can fight battles yourself and better diplomacy. Which do you prefer. I have both of them and will probably be getting Medival 2 and Warlords at christmas and want to know what other people think about how they match up.

Those are extremely difficult to compare. In Civ you lead a civilization from stone age to present day. In RTW you lead an antique age country and try to kill everything that moves. In Civ you build new cities. In RTW you conquer provinces. In Civ you can build Swordsmen. In RTW you can build(as Rome) Principes, Hastati and all the legionaries.

CivIV has more different strategy possiblities. Rome is fun for doing battles and conquering the Mediterranean. I find both are just as good and tend to have periods where I play RTW for a while then play CIV for a while.

RTW is just 2 half-built buggy games tacked together. Civ4 wins by a long long way. RTW is fun for a bit, but the AI is abysmal and even the hardest difficultly level is rediculously easy.

They should combine the civ building of Civ and the tactics and military issues of RTW into one awesome game.
