Hello folks! I am a long time Sid Meier's Civilization fan! I have recently stumbled upon your amazing RoM mod for it and without hesitation downloaded the torrent of the Mega version. Likewise I patched it before launching to embark on a new journey.

Unfortunately, clicking single player or multi-player, after nearly thirty seconds of waiting, always leads to the runtime error. I saw others had problems with runtime errors here, but none similar to mind (that I found). I removed it and replaced it once again without applying the patch, and I still had the error (with the patch afterwards there was still an error). Even though the game played well before, and the error was the .exe supposedly, I tried running the game without the mod with great success! I've even installed the game and mod on my Vista laptop and it runs fine. Can anyone here help me with this issue. It is patched to 3.19.

Thanks,
Jimmi G

Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 3
Intel Core 2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40GHz
2.39 GHz, 3.00GB of RAM (Actually 4GB but 32bit XP only recognizes 3GB as we all know)

.... I don't know what else might be necessary but ask me and I will provide.

I take it back, it doesn't work despite my previous post. Any ideas would be appreciated. I'm able to get past the single player or multi-player but then the error returns. The encyclopedia thing also brings the error.

The megapack tends to be unstable for a lot of people. I'd recommend trying the 2.81 full if the megapack doesn't work. Also, is there any chance that you have a non ascii character in your path anywhere? ROM won't work right if the username has non English characters in it (for example). If that is a problem, there's a fix somewhere for it, sorry I don't know how to find that. Just some thoughts - good luck.
