Saltpeter

Hi, I got Civ III a while back but havent played for a long time, I was wondering how to get/mine Saltpete I have already gotten all the required Technology such as Gunpowder etc, I built a road to it but nothing.... Im also already in the Middle Ages...... Thanks in advance

Welcome to CFC!

Here are the requirements:

1) Build a road to it.
2) Have it within your cultural boundaries, ot have a colony on it.
3) Make sure that it is connected to your trade system.
4) Are you the Dutch?

Hey thanks for the reply, Im Roman in game, the problem might be that its not in my boundries, guess Ill go try and build a colony next to it

Yep, to build a colony, do this:

1) Have a worker build a road to the resource
2) Make sure the road is connected to your cities
3) Move the worker onto the resource
4) Click the "Build Colony" button.

Be wary though - if a civ builds a city next to the resource (1 tile away), your colony is lost in their cultural borders - that's why cities are always better!
