Saved game won't load

I was playing last night (and pretty much all day yesterday) and this morning, my saved game will not load. When I try to load it, the game just hangs on the initial screen with Sean Bean reading the text and the picture of Ghandi.

I have attached the save file here in case it's useful.

That post seems to be saying that the game will not run at all. That's not what I am getting at all.
The game itself loads and runs fine. It's only this one particular save game that will not load. I actually went back to a previous Auto-save one turn earlier and was able to continue my game. But the save attached here will not load.

Hmm, it loads for me. You might try revalidating your game files through Steam. Otherwise, I don't know what to suggest.

Well, like I said, I loaded up the autosave from one turn earlier and it works. So I'm not too worried about it.

The issue seems to be that loading times suddenly do a massive jump. Some computers doesn't like this, and hangs the game. Others do not, which means you can simply wait for something like 10 minutes, and it will load.

[EDIT: It looks like Windows Defender is the culprit. Read the thread and try it out.]

Yep. Turning off Windows Defender during the load did it. Thanks.

Just in case it helps in the future, I had the "infinite load time" and I found the process in Task Manager, right clicked, selected Properties, and then checked "run as administrator" and then it loaded up.
