Saving In Civilization 3

I reccently installed Civilization 3 on a new computer, and it works fine, (after i had some previous trouble) but when i go to save. It has a folder called "..." or something and a folder named "Auto" i cant seem to find a way to save, when i click the "O" to save it simply closes out of the menu and leaves no reccord of the previous save. How can i solve this, i am in the middle of a really good game...

The ".." is a way to navigate to the parent menu.

What might be useful for you is to open windows explorer, and find a file in your install directory. In it you will find a file called "Civilization3.ini" (I think...). Open it with a text editor, and see if it has a line in it reading soemthng like "WindowsFileBox=0" - if you change that '0' to a '1' then restart Civ, you'll find that you get the same save-as menu that you get with Word, excel and any other windows program. You might find that a bit easier to use!

Im to tired now, but i will try that tomorrow, is there a way i can save it as is?

Well, it should be saving as it is. If its not, it is probably because you are out of diskspace.
