Hey guys,

Just wondering how the 'Eliminate Pollution' special rule works in scenario settings?

I set it to 1=True but when I use a Nuke it still creates pollution and I still get a global warming metre increase.

One of my fantasy scifi battle scenarios won't have settlers or engineers so I need to prevent harmful pollution and global warming issues from using super weapons since the player won't be able to clean it up themselves. I thought this scenario setting option would be what I want but it doesn't seem to be doing any "eliminating' lol!

Also a bonus question of what does the WW2 AI setting do exactly? Make the AI's more aggressive or something?

Don't use the WW2 setting. Per a book by Possidente on scenario creation, it causes "issues."

I don't think eliminate pollution removes pollution from nukes.

If you're using ToTPP you could remove pollution via lua events each turn (or however so often you desire).

Do you have a spare unit slot, or one that would "make sense" to act as a clean up unit as well? You could always use a house rule to prevent the player from using the unit in an improper way and only reserve it for pollution?

yeah the original settler slot is still free in my red alert scenario.. so I could unlock them again and simply 'ask' people not to make new cities or work the land I guess haha. I could also make all my city buildings etc make zero food and resources to act as a deterrent for making new cities outside of the bases. I've already locked railroad tech out too as I use RR slots for decoration.

Oh and I'm guessing there's no setting to adjust pollution accumulation time like you can adjust the tech paragrim time?

.

I think so, but you'd have to ask someone who has actually done this (or just test it yourself).
