Scenarios

I'm new to the site, but have been playing CIVIII for a while. I feel like a dunce asking this, but how do I downloand/play the scenarios here? I downloaded a .zip file and extracted it into a folder I created. When I chose to load that scenario, I got an error message and the game shutdown.

Am I supposed to extract the files into a specific place? Is there anything else I need to know/do?

C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III\Conquests\Scenarios if in Conquests.
C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III\Play the World\Scenarios if in PTW.
C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III\Scenarios if in Vanilla.

Most of the scenarios here can only be played in the Conquests or PTW mods, unless stated.
