Im curious haw to optimise final score in C-IV Vanilla as weel as in C-IV Warlords.

I do not care about score, just playing as I useally do and finish as soon as I can.
Score is not a target of thsi game.

Thrallia got it just right :)
The other factors can pretty much be ignored, it's your population you should focus on
A good read is hendrickzoons "milking" strategy, which I believe is found in a GOTM2 writeup, or thereabouts :)

Yeah, score is an afterthought for me too, unless I decide to make it a point just to make things interesting. Playing for score is like an entirely different game, and the results can't be compared to people who play for speed. Since most of the GOTM players prefer speed as the yardstick of success, I find that it's a more relevant gauge.

Once in a while, I will play for score just to add a new element to things. Like in the current WOTM with Shaka, I've decided to try to score my highest ever diplo finish. I was inspired by Jesusin breaking into the top three score with a diplo win a while back. While he and I agree that speed is more relevant, just the fact that he pulled off a top three score without going conquest or domination struck me as a cool challenge to pose myself, especially since I already have a speed medal for diplo wins.

Yep, we can whine as much as we want while `xzoon gets the gold. And the silver. And gems.

Honestly, have yet to play for score ;)

To be true, I think current GOTM scoring system is probably the best compromise. I dislike pure time scoring system because it would narrow posible good strategies too mach.

I do not play for a medals in Gotm, just for fun. When it is clear i will win i can not make myself think how to do it faster in game time, more like how I can finish it faster in RL time.
