I started playing GOTM for the first time ever and want to know more about the scoring system.

first of all i would like to know how the game decides the score, what factors in the score an how heavy?

I see the score is cummulative and depends on your citizens, being happy. Norally i aim for the minimum happyness needed to stay out of riots. Do gotm players actually spend their income on happyness to increase score?

Any other ways to increase score other than simply conquering the world asap?

I know the jason scoring system is used to eliminate the benefit of delaying your victory in order to have more citizens and thus more score, can anyone explain my what calculations are used exactly?

There is an extensive write-up on the gotm page. The calculator show some of the parameters, the most interesting being the 'expected' date of each victory condition.

There is a link towards the bottom to the gory details.
