Screen went black

About the 13th century, while playing as ghengis khan, the game froze for a few seconds, and then the screen went black but I could still see the city names. I reloaded, and now cannot see the city names, in their place are lines that jump around the screen. I exited out of the game and reloaded and found the same colored lines on the title screen, although it went through the cinimatics without problem.

Can anybody help?
