SDK Tool release???

Well, here may be an easy Q to answer...Whe is the SDK Tool being released??? All i get when looking for an answer (spent at least 30min, and checked various sites+forums+home page) is early 2006/late jan./early feb. 2006. So...its now mid feb and nothing other than that...

This is exactly why they should never ever give anything close to even resembling a date when anouncing anything.

Just be patient, it will available soon...probably.
Don't forget that it is a free gizmo (on what is the cheapest form of entertainment out there already).

Why they always call for wrong date that turns out that they never be able to keep?
Call for date as latest date they can not miss.
For example, now is Feb, and expected completion date or planed schedule is to June. But there may be some delay and it may take 1-2 additional month, but not exceeding 3 month in any case. Then announce the completion date as "September"( 3 addtional month), not "June" (internal schedule/expected date).
When everything go well and they managed to complete the project by June or July, then we will be delighted by the news that the it is done earlier than announced/expected.
Software developer always schedules project on assumption that everything will go as expected and every one works at their best and there never be an accident or delay or unexpected hurddle. This assumption is always proved to be false, consistantly and repeatedly. Why they can not learn from previous experience
They have bad habit of announcing expected date based on their "best hope" that will never come true.

What really cheeses me is the fact, on the civ4.com home page, they still have that same damn text stating its due for late jan early/feb release, why can they not update that information and explain a thing or 2 on whats goin on? Whomever is on pr(public relations) should at least get those statements up to date, for ppl like me waiting to play civ 4 cause it sux unmodded. I pre-ordered the game, got it on release, noticed a few things that are missing or need tuning to make game play worth my time, been waiting for the sdk to come out and still nothing, the games collecting dust till i can mod to my hearts content...no tactical nukes! w/e, b4 there were ICBM's there were transportable nuclear devices.

its like paying a handyman all the money up front- they have the money- the rush to deliver the goods just isn't there anymore. (by the way- never pay anyone all the money up front for work like house repairs ect.)

I think you are misunderstanding a bit what the SDK is.. it is not a tool for editing the game units and such..
The SDK is the C++ source code for most of the game (AI and other game related logic).
Adding a tactical nuke should be possible just by editing the XML I think (possibly having to add some python code).

As for the SDK.. since it contains most of the game code it is closely linked to the patch level, so I dont expect it to be released till the next patch is available.
