Selecting AI competition

I let them be picked randomly...That being said why is it that I always end up next to Germany and the Zulu?

Select old civs,not modern civs.

I normally pick civs that do well against me and avoid the ones that did bad in my last game. I also use random AIs in certain games.

Random all the way - Especially if you are new to the game. Your own civ should be random too. You will be suprised by the strenghths of different civ and there special units.

I like to keep barbs sedentary - they can be very bothersome. Like cockroaches if you see one there are alot more lurking about.
