Self limitations to create interesting games

I have been playing Civ1 for many years, but to make things interesting, I have created various 'scenarios'.

One such scenario i am playing is:

1. Edited a random large map to connect and make one land mass. Not necessarily expanding the masses, but linking them (I am not a big fan of messing about on the water) (7 Civs)

2. Give myself Automobile and Bridge Building

3. I can never build a city UNLESS I have fully irrigated, built roads, created mines on every city square for every city

4. I have to fully build every building available to my city (Wonders are optional), before i can build military units (except the first city, I create a militia to avoid losing very quickly)

5. I never make friends with any civilisation

6. Set Science to 10%, Happiness 0 (obviously), revenue 90%

This scenario means I build my initial city, a militia to stay in my city. Build the Barracks and any other building that my initial technology demands i build.

When I have created my first tank, I patrol and explore. If I come across another city, I will attack it, but not enter it (to reduce the growth) and continue to explore and attack.

I build settler(s) and build roads in all directions to enable swift patrolling. I tend to avoid huts unless they are not likely to become a city (on hills etc). When I get a new technology that introduces a new building, i am forced to switch production away from creating units to build the new city.

This has the effect of reducing my military might for a short while. of course, my funds grow and I can quickly use my money to speed up building the new building.
