Maybe a stupid question, but do you people know these very usefull bug.

When you let a settler build Irrigation, a Mine or a Road, you can click in the same turn again on this settler and let him do his job again. After repeating this trick several times the work will be done in only a single turn. (This is one of the reasons why civilization I is so ****ing easy :D

Oh yeah, I think I remember that.

It's well known actually, it's called the settler-cheat. A game is always easy when you've found a cheat that is so effective! ;)
Try playing and mastering the game without the cheat, when you then switch back to using the cheat the game gets really easy! :D
I prefer to play without the cheat, it costs less time and I find it more satisfying to know I played the game without cheating.

I find that cheat an annoyance. It really kills the fun in the game when you spend all your time clicking on a settler to do a task, then click on him to get him back up again, then click on him to do a task. What fun is there in that? Unless it's an emergency.

That's great...if you like to cheat...but then, why bother playing...unless you're really bored...

I think somewhere on this site is a list of all of the Civ 1 cheats.

I only use the cheats when:

a. I've beaten the game.
b. To let out my frustrations on a civ. :)
c. When the AI is just plain annoying.

I plan on not using cheats like that.. but I tried it once just to see if it was really true or not, and it didn't work.. I guess that cheat is for the PC version only? Oh well. Not like I was going to use it much anyway.. =P

Hmm sounds good but on the other hand: imagine you would like to irrigate and build a road on a square do you have to click on him about ten times? in the end this will be very annoying and may be harmful to your thumb :D

lol.. I had thought the same.. I think if I even was able to do it in the SNES version I'd rather just wait instead of clicking so many times =P

If you develop the land anyway, the game takes longer, so why not play 30 hours instead of 25?
