Setup problem

Hi there, if someone could help me I would be grateful.

I have recently bought Civ 4 after seeing my PC easily managing the demo. However, when trying to install the real game I encounter problems.

Firslty, when autorun occured, I click install but straight away a message occured saying set23.tmp has encountered a problem and I must close this. i would try it again and the message would again appear but the number will change, like set19.tmp has encountered a problem.

I have tried this through autorun and the manual way, can anyone feed some light into my problem as my computer is good and the demo worked fine.

Have you tried to browse the CD/DVD via My Computer, and run setup.exe?

I have, does anyone have any ideas. Faulty disk??? I have my suspicions its a virus of some kind. Some one care to give me an idea.

Try copying the contents of the CD/DVD onto your hard drive. If the copying works, the "faulty disk" theory is not so probable (though still possible). You can also install from your hard drive.

Consider posting the full exact error message you're getting, maybe a screenshot of the error...
