Fresh eyes ...

Chehalis and Sanarqand will finish their naval builds in 2 and 3 turns ... then I would draft down to pop 6, set reasarch to wealth, and evacuate. Use the longbows and spears as bait to get G to take them. Move the modern troops to Tufan and Karak and airlift them to the front with Spain.

Zamora ... I was going to raze it, but moved too many stacked troops in by mistake (after gunship killed last defender), so figured I'd put all in, see if that deters counterattack. I'd be fine pulling out of there next turn if that seems best. In fact, we might use Jon's trick of letting them refill the city and then we kill those troops (or is that someone else's trick?)

We might want to put a fighter in there to stop bomber attacks.

If we stack enough bombers in one place (istanbul), we can outnumber Izzy's fighters and get some through.

I was thinking that we leave Leon as Izzy's last city. We could abandon Zamora, raze Seville, raze Gaziantep, swing the east navy north to Cordoba.

Then we mass bombers in Lutetia, and take the north land force there to join the sea force and take and hold Cordoba. Then it is just Santander and Barcelona to capture and keep. Then make peace with Izzy for tech.

Then maybe declare on B, just to get him friendly with G to trade maybe? No actual attacks.

Same with Izzy later, if needed.

Do you suppose that if G has the score lead, he will be less inclined to attack us? And concentrate on his ship? I wonder how the AI is programmed to think about this.

I think we get to rebuild the FP once Karak falls ... Camulodunum seems perfect for this. But I'd wait for R1 to be back before giving up Turfan or Karak.

Is there anything else that we could possibly do to help G besides giving him more cities? I am not opposed to that at all, just trying to brainstorm if we can do anything else to speed him up.

I have finally had the time to check things a bit. I'm flying tommorrow and will be very busy the following day.

Speed G up ... here are my thoughts, not sure they all work, but worth a try?

Give him more cities in Mongolia.

If we give him all of Mongolia, and we don't share a land border, does he worry less about war and more about ship?

If he has the score lead, does he worry less about war and more about ship? Might mean we raze more of Izzy's cities, or stagnate our pop with specialists, to hold our score down.

Make peace with Izzy for tech after we take her down to one city. Redclare a phony war with B, and later Izzy, so that MMS makes them buddies with G and maybe he can pick up a few techs.

That is about all we can do, I think. Just playing out the string now ...

What about a peace half way through the with with izzy if she is offering techs and then declare again in 10 turns time.

I think you mean state property? We are already in police state IIRC. Might be useful, or maybe building FP again in Camulodunum is just as good or better.

I don't see a need for spies, as we are going to stop launch by Izzy by killing her off (or almost doing it). With Izzy, since she has mech inf, I'd rather not give her time to build more ... she's thin on defense now, so lets press the advantage now.

@ C63 ... are you going to be able to play a set here before you leave? Seems clear that RL has Jon by the throat now.

@ g_s ... pretty clear you will be up to play in the next two days ... either after C63 plays, or because he had to leave before he could play. So stay tuned! We should know which it is by tomorrow.

I'll load the game and play my turnset now. Only thing that has occurred to me is that the more we research space techs, the cheaper they become to G. Not sure what we can do about that, though. Maybe nothing before leaving Izzy and B OCC.

Could be that any we can research, he already has! For a second, I thought that leaving Izzy with some cities might help her research to make tech cheaper for G, but I think better is to stagnate her tech, so G can get something she does not have, then trade for one he needs. So it's OCC for Izzy! ;)

I had to play SGOTM5 before this. Then, it took me one hour to play 2 turns. I had no more time left, I had to save and upload. I razed Seville and Zamora. Honestly, it's been a pain to play my turnsets in this game. I'm sorry.

No apology required, it can take a while to play these ... have to love the combat micromanagement.

Two turns, two cities razed, sounds productive to me! :goodjob:

g_s, you are up, R1 is on deck. I think raze Gaziantep, then take and hold Cordoba with the combined naval and northern land force. Then move on the last two large cities. We don't want Izzy to make space elevator, so no early peace for her.

Yes, I think the ideas in my posts 906 and 908 still apply. Feel free to play 20 turns if you like ... unless some surprise arises. Leave Izzy that one city in the North west of Vienne.

Once we have beaten Izzy into the stone age, nothing left to do but wait out G, or the year 2050. Switch economy to full research to see if our getting techs makes them cheaper for G, as C63 suggested.

I have played a few turns but took izzy's city next to vienne before I realised you good plan ( there was an artillery and 2 tanks on the way so not my fault :(. I mgiht have to leave her with a good city and then we can take that once she plants a new one. any ideas which one to leave her

Take Cordoba and Barcelona, and leave either Santander or Gaziantep. I favor raze Gaziantep and leave Santander as I think that goes faster.

We will want to pillage around Santander before peace, as we don't want Izzy making the space elevator ... G needs that.
