Possible CF with Augustus and Pericles on T212 to gift back Ravenna and Knossos.
Just did a little test. Not sure you can gift cities under Cease Fire, only Peace?

Should Diplo fail, wouldn't that require that we wait 8 more turn before we can redeclare to go for Conquest? Sorry, forgot, how many turns until we can make another try for Diplo?

My tests indicate otherwise. I was able to give back cities on the turn of signing a CF, and also several turns after a CF. Maybe there are certain circumstances under which an AI wont take its cities back, but in general, they will. And we have plenty of vassal cities we can give back.

I certainly wont sign a peace treaty with Augustus/Pericles. We want to leave ourselves a fallback in case something gums up the works. I think we could get capitulation from Augustus and Pericles before we would have another chance at a diplo victory (T220).

If your tests say so, that is fine with me. I didn't have much time and my testing wasn't as thorough as I would have liked. I only tested on the turn of the CF and for some reason was unable to gift them.

Yes, my concern was to ensure a fallback position.

Good Luck!

Plan is looking good :goodjob:

How about playing 2 turns now including some of T208 (the attacks on Cumae, Ravenna and possibly Knossos) and then post a save?

My reason for proposing this is that by then we would have an option of switching to slavery in T208 (as originally planned) and whip the bank in Horseville for a little extra hammers if it turns out that hammers in Horseville is the bottleneck and not the available gold for researching Corp in one turn. We would also know the impact of the end of the golden age.

And since SCT have so much MM'ing and other stuff to take care of it might even be nice to have a break in the middle of the final turn set :D.

Yes, probably could use a bit of that stuff MP drinks...
:yumyum:

Good luck remembering all that MM you have to do! Keep up the good work.

And it is good to see that one of us still has a memory!

Sucks to get up in years...

It's the only good Australian beer I know. (No, Fosters is NOT Australian for beer.)

I'm sure that MP could probably recommend some others. :p

Although he may be more familiar with Kenyan beer by now. :mischief:

Does anyone know the keystroke to cancel all worker actions?

Alt key and the red circle with the line thru it while any worker is selected should cancel all worker actions. (I think it is alt key and not the ctrl key, going from memory here.)

I'll play in a few hours and then save after the three attacks.

Then I'll have a Cooper's. :)

Good luck.

BTW, I haven't found Cooper's in any of the stores around here but the Outback restaurant has it.

While we're waiting, just wondering how long a true rapacious and tenacious Viking would allow himself to be represented by a jolly old anachronistic avatar.

I guess the twelve days of Christmas are finally over, so I should contemplate going back to sea. It is always nice to represent a jolly old soul for a while rather than a band of opportunistic barbarians? :p

Lots of stuff remains to be done on T208, but here's the save. Beer time!

Looks pretty good too! :goodjob:

Through the slits that should be eyes, can't see much that will hold you back. Rome and Antium are poorly defended, four units each. Augustus has a War Elephant near Charlemagne's nearest city versus two LB's.

EDIT - Hard to believe Pericles is paying hard ball? Didn't think Augustus would WIMP out...

Hope you enjoyed the Cooper's, or is it Sam Adams... :mischief:

Se you in the morning.

Whipping Horseville would put it at 15 pop, and would mean 1 less pop available to be whipped for Wall Street. So it's better to leave it at 16 pop. I have already turned Horseville's cows into a workshop for +2 hammers, and next turn its horses are becomming a workshop for +2 hammers. Those 2 changes alone put us safely in the whipping window whether we're in Free Market or State Property on T213.

End of the golden age dropped bpt by ~12%. Of course there were 2 new cities out of revolt on that turn.

Like what I'm reading. Would seem that we'll be able to win by timely conquest even if our best laid plans hit a snag.

Capitulation by Augustus could even trigger domination. So we have 3 ways to win. :goodjob:

Actually, I could recommend quite a number of others, and I'd recommend anything but Fosters in any case. I really don't like the stuff.

The big one in Kenya is Tuskers. They sell them mostly in 500ml bottles. In Australia the common size is more like 375ml. Unfortunately around where I live at the moment there are a few guys who get right into the home brew and that sure ain't Tuskers, and it sure gets them one ripper of a ride by the looks of them in the morning. Not good. I definitely don't want to sample that stuff, whatever it is. Not even vaguely interested.

Good luck SCT. Go get 'em!
