i would like to use our great people to turn on a golden age, and change to vassalage and theochracy...
 
my plan is to research astro, and build up military EVERYWHERE. Upgare some galleons. and set up the troop route like this:

I think a GA is needed - we could be able to caste- slave another GP and launch another GA right after, as we have 2 Great Persons at this moment.

Or maybe we should first finish the Mausoleum? If we are able.
 
What are the great persons? I don't think we want to extensively use scientists/artists on golden ages, since they have clear other uses. It might even be worth to do the revolt back without a GP.
 
OK, I have to ask - I see this for second or third time - for what we need a Great Artist in this particular game except for culture bombing some place with a lot of unclaimed land and thus increasing our territory in one turn?

Just make sure you see where her main stack is and what it consists of. Dont allow to be catch with pants down. Defend if need be and just after destroying her main stack continue to advance.

I would have preferred the Prophet as he is absolutely useless to us right now, but I dont see better use for the Artist too, so it does not matter too much.

Shall we need it? We have to decide whether we continue to tech or concentrate on hitting domination with Spain, England and Russia + some settlers waiting for the right time.
 
Metra, just the culture bombing at the end of the game that you mentioned. This can typically save ~5 turns, which is more than the 1 turn of disorder from switching civics.
 
Well, this can be achieved by settling 3 settlers or so. I still think we should have used the Prophet, so we can use the Artist for bombing too, but it is already done.

I still want we to use settlers waiting to be settled while near domination limit. I have done this with good success few times in my games.

[off-topic]I have seen one game, where the idea was to settle as many cities as possible till 1 AD. One of the guys have settled 32 or something cities in one turn to avoid paying maintenance. It was impressive.

Yes, 5>1 , but things are not as simple as that. In our case we would have needed 2 or 3 turns for switching 2 civics and adopting religion. Also, imagine the impact on our economics, army building and overall from the GA. This can well override the 5 turns bombing will save us at the end. Also, the bombing have to be done with perfect timing, because at least I usually hit the domination limit without even wanting this - no matter if I am aiming for conquest or just trying to get better score by growing up few more turns :)
 
i took the artist, becouse i think the next great persons hould do the 2 person Ga with the prophet. to minimize the risk of haveing 2 of the same great persons...
